Providenciales is around 575 miles from Miami, a flight of about one hour and thirty-five minutes. Turks & Caicos has become South Florida's favorite long-weekend escape because Grace Bay delivers powdery sand and reef-calm water just a quarter of an hour from the airport, with villas and resorts that cater to private travelers.
Light jets like the Phenom 300 reach Provo comfortably with four to six guests. For families with nannies, or anyone who wants a stand-up cabin and a lavatory with more privacy, a super-midsize such as the Challenger 300 is the popular upgrade.
Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and its executive neighbor FXE are a strong choice for this route if you live north of Aventura, while Opa-Locka (OPF) is easiest for Miami Beach and Coral Gables. All three have quick FBO access and CBP for the return.
Providenciales International (MBPV) has its own private terminal, operated by Provo Air Center, with an on-site customs and immigration hall. The process is famously smooth, often a matter of minutes, and cars can meet the aircraft. Visitors need a valid passport; no visa is required for U.S. citizens.
High season runs from mid-December through April, when villa availability is the main constraint. The summer months are hotter but quieter, with some of the year's best diving visibility; keep an eye on the tropics from August to October.
