Private Jet from Miami to Teterboro / New York

Miami to the New York area is the busiest private jet corridor on the East Coast, about 1,100 miles and two hours forty minutes northbound. It is the commute of finance executives, part-time residents and families who split the year between Manhattan and South Florida, and its sheer volume keeps aircraft positioned on both ends.

Midsize jets such as the Hawker 900XP or Citation XLS+ are the workhorses here, nonstop with six to eight passengers. A super-midsize like the Challenger 300 or Praetor 500 adds a flat floor and quieter cabin, and is the most-requested category for this route in winter.

Opa-Locka (OPF) and Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE) are both excellent origins, but Palm Beach (PBI) is the logical starting point for Palm Beach and Jupiter residents. Each has multiple FBOs handling New York flights daily, which keeps departure times flexible.

Teterboro (TEB) in New Jersey sits about 12 miles from Midtown and is served by Signature, Atlantic and Meridian FBOs, with cars meeting the aircraft. Westchester (HPN) is closer for Greenwich and the northern suburbs, and Republic (FRG) serves Long Island and the Hamptons. As a domestic flight there are no customs formalities.

Snowbird season creates heavy southbound demand from November through January and a northbound rush after Easter. Those seasonal surges also produce some of the most frequent empty legs in the country, so flexible travelers can often save.
